The founder of Ollywell, Oliver Mathew, a trained microbiologist and brewer, turned his passion for health into something unique.
He spent years working in the brewing industry, but one discovery changed his professional path. Mushrooms had always fascinated him. One day, during a routine break at work, he spotted morels growing in the grass — and that moment deepened his curiosity.
His growing interest, combined with the impact of the COVID pandemic, led to a major life decision: to start his own business. What began as a desire to create something healthy for family and friends turned into a concrete plan — producing top-quality functional mushrooms and extracts.
From idea to production
The idea began with research and experimentation. For over a year, the Ollywell team developed mushroom cultivation technology in sterile conditions, along with an innovative ultrasonic extraction method.
